Label configuration as a foundation:
A label configuration reflects the label category of a product (the type of label required for a given product depending on factors such as product type, packaging, transportation requirements) and the label template that is relevant for it.
A label configuration contains also information about the applicable compliance requirements to a label (a compliance requirement in Label Management contains data for a label).
Assignment of Label Configurations to Products:
A label assignment contains one or multiple label categories that are relevant to a given product and the corresponding label configurations for it.
When you create a label assignment for a product, you perform an initial setup of label-relevant information for that product. You can also send a label assignment for printing to an external system like our labeling solution EUROLABEL.
